3D Printing
Dream Home Design
For this project, we were assigned to 3D model and then print a Dream Home using OnShape, a professional 3D modeling website. For my Design, I decided to 3D model my family's lake house because it is someplace that I spend a lot of time in, and it has lots of cool components that I thought would be kind of challenging to 3D model.
I began by simply modeling the house, creating the basic structure, then adding parts of the house that jutted out more. Then I created a front deck, and then a Fireplace. I also created lots of windows and doors and other small details The project required that we used specific tools, and one thing I struggled with was trying to figure out how to use the sweep tool. I initially was going to make it a sort of gutters, but then after playing around with it I was able to make a really cool effect that gives the whole house another dimension. I also made some spheres to create door handles on my two doors. After that I colored the individual elements and created the final product.
